Adventure Walking & The Seedling Cafe
It was absolutely beautiful, perfect, heavenly weather the other day. I knew two things: I did not want to chop my own vegetables for lunch and it was too beautiful too stay inside. I decided to walk to The Seedling Cafe, which is a veggie lover’s heaven, and soak up some Vitamin D. That proved to be very smart because it proceeded to rain for the last few days.
It was 4 miles round trip and it was so nice to be out in the sights, smells and sounds of the real world instead of in my car. I sometimes will catch a faint whiff of something unidentifiable… a mix of exhaust and hot brick pavement and funky gas smells and it will remind me of the hot summer I lived in Europe. I think it’s probably a smell common to all cities, I just never notice it at home because I only walk when I’m in foreign countries. Here’s what I saw and ate:

- My green street. I still can’t get over how GREEN New England is.

- That path starts at a local park, heads through the woods and ends at my street.

- Stopping by park on a sunny day (an homage to Robert Frost, another New Hampshire-ite)

A really nice, stone public bathroom. A mama lets her baby dabble in the fountain.

Shady trees and a swinging park bench

- This poor tree hasn’t gotten his leaves yet.

- This is my house!

- Oh sorry, I meant THIS is my house

- Or maybe this one is mine? Yes, sorry for my confusion earlier, this is my house.
-

A funny puffy tree
-

The river. In the back are mill buildings -- you're looking at the birthplace of the industrial revolution
-

Moat monster
-

The end is in sight

- Veggies await!
-

Blueberry iced tea, Josephine Wrap on Wheat, Chips (!) and Lord Peter Whimsey stories
-

Kind of blurry (I still feel sketchy photographing my food in public): Spinach, Zucchini, Squash, Hummus, Avocado, Asparagus. It came with pesto, but it had cheese so I nixed it. A delicious lunch.
