Busy day

June 29th, 2009 by Elizabeth

Today was pretty busy.  I ran over to Peterborough, which is a cute little town, to pick up a Teavana cup.  I grabbed a quick lunch (bean burrito in a whole wheat wrap with guac and salsa, no cheese.  This is my favorite food right now.  I am eating it sometimes twice a day.)

A river runs through it

Not a bad view, eh?

Many of the businesses and homes in Peterborough have these cute little patios that overlook the river. I would love that.

Despite how small the town was, I actually kind got lost wandering around.  I thought if I just followed the river I’d be able to find the main street, but the river evidently turns and I wound up WAY far away.  Did I mention it was raining?  It was quite the adventure.

Then I took my kitchen counter from this:

ahhhh. Better, no? Better, YES!

Our house is one that we purchased at a foreclosure auction.  We bought it knowing it would need to be completely gutted.  It was a great deal, a fantastic investment.  The only trouble is that living in a constant construction zone takes a toll on your standard of cleanliness.  Who cares if your clothes/shoes/books/dishes are all over the place?  Add it to the pile.

This was one small step for the counter.  Now you should see my desk…

More food stuff tomorrow.  Today was just a bit crazy.  I made it to the gym and dragged ass the entire time.  Whatever I caught last week, it has sent me back to my running level at about 2 months ago.  Before I got sick, I could run 3 miles at a 9:30 pace (which for me is MIRACULOUS).  Now I’m back to running 10 minutes miles and I need a brief walking break in between.

WAH!!!  I loved feeling like an Iron Man.  Running fast.  Like a leopard.

Oh well, it’ll come back.

Peace to you and yours,

E.
